“Are Google’s AI Ethics Principles Just Window Dressing?”

Google Gemini AI Principles - Freehold ...

I think Google AI principles are mainly aspirational and more just window dressing. When reading this article, I did not get reassurance if they are responsible for the deployment of their search engine having to do with AI. Through a skeptical lens I think, "Is my information safe?" Through casual reading I mainly felt motivated and hyped to use their product when they say their principle brings collaborative progress and bold innovation. The website only has google themselves as the credibility instead of other peoples feedback stated.UNESCO - Globalpolicy.AI

When UNESCO’s AI ethics report I felt they were more enforceable and measurable. With them stating, “The Observatory showcases information about the readiness of countries to adopt AI ethically and responsibly.

It also hosts the AI Ethics and Governance Lab, which gathers contributions, impactful research, toolkits and good practices.” by https://www.unesco.org/ethics-ai/en?hub=32618

Then you are able to read more about it when you hit discover and at the end you’ll find they are partnered up with 6 other credible endorsers. As a reader this felt more reassuring about what they stand for when google felt vague after comparing the two. This felt useful when reading and less of window dressing.
