Kickstart ideas

 

A communication technology area I am interested in for my Kickstart project is social media. I can’t wait to go over this chapter in class because I feel like there is always something new to learn about when it comes to social media. It is constantly growing as new apps are created, lives are being changed, and laws are being created for people’s safety around the media. It is safe to say social media is going nowhere so being able to learn and be part of change for a positive means a lot.

 

My dream career is to be in social media marketing being able to do more research, grow my skills, and gain ideas from others sounds perfect. My current experience with social media is I have used it since the 4th grade, I have a minor in Media arts, design, and technology, and I have a few marketing positions in clubs. I am currently working on getting an internship this summer for the social media marketing position at chipotle headquarters and that is why I am interested in the topic.

 

I think it would be cool to come up with an app that is unique and doesn’t have the same features as every other platform. I feel like all apps have merged into one. For example, Instagram and TikTok have stories and locations turned on that were original to Snapchat. Snapchat has a reel’s section that’s similar to Instagram and TikTok. Before TikTok, short videos came from Vine. There are plenty of other examples but being able to create an app that does not have to integrate another app's big idea is something I am interested in looking into for my kickstart project.
