Mondo’s coffeehouse is located 995 Nord Ave #100, Chico, CA 95926. They are open every day from 6am-3pm. Their prices range from 3$-12$ so they aren’t an expensive place to stop by.

When entering they are more on the fun side with their design. The atmosphere and the environment just feel and look welcoming. One side of the room has comfy couches with plants and lots of games to play with but if that isn’t your vibe, they also have regular seats where you can enjoy your coffee or food while studying or doing homework. This coffee shop is a bit of a walk from Chico State however the drive isn’t bad at all as it is only a 5-minute drive from campus.

Their coffee drinks include Espresso, lates, Coffees such as drip (most common/ basic), pour over, café Au lait. Café au Lait is coffee with hot milk. They have a wide variety of coffee beverages to choose from and even specialty drinks.

Some things you didn’t Know about Mondo’s

By looking at their website, I learned that Mondo’s Coffeehouse is a program that serves individuals with developmental disabilities. On their page they state, “The program is designed to provide an opportunity for consumers of Far Northern Regional Center (FNRC) to acquire important public socialization, independent living, and employment skills while being paid a competitive wage. Many from FNRC are willing and able to gain competitive employment yet are often not given the opportunity. Mondo’s offers competitive employment and helps consumers develop skills needed to obtain a career within the community.” I think this is such a great idea not only is their food and drinks good but what they do for our community is amazing.

They proudly work with Grounds for Change, Chico Chai, and Far Northern Regional Center. Grounds for change is a coffee roasting business that is sustainable. They also work with many community-based programs.

Mondo’s Coffee House also states, “We train our associates in food service and basic barista skills in an environment that is supportive, respectful, and where they are treated as working peers. We love our associates and they're an integral part of the shop. We couldn't do it without them!”  I love this and when visiting you can just get that feeling that everyone is welcomed. I would rate this place 10/10.
