Sweet Bean Coffee House
Sweet Bean Coffee house is one of the newest cafes to open in Chico Ca as they opened last year 2023. Their website doesn’t have much but you can order online. Hours Monday through Friday are 6am-3pm and 7am-3pm on the weekends. This location is a bit of a drive from campus as it is on the other side of town, but I still would recommend it if you were ever in the area. So far, I have been twice, and you can tell this place is always busy because it's so good.
The place is nice and spacious. The café gives modern farmhouse vibes with hints of greenery. There are always a handful of workers behind the bar so you’re never waiting long for your order and the staff are so sweet they take the time to talk to every customer however not in an overly cheerful annoying way. A part of the decorations I thought was cute was a piece showing different types of coffees, with their names and what’s in them. I think this was a nice touch to add to my ordering because you can look at it while you’re waiting in line and potentially order something new.
With that being said, the menu is huge but not in a stressful way. I like how Sweet Bean lists out all the drinks and flavors you can order but also gives out many recommendations and specialty drinks to try. When coming with my friends I know they like to make their own drinks, but I am the type to always want to try something new without going to a place and staring and the menu for a long time so having recommendations and specialty drinks are always nice. Some of these specialty drinks include Honey Buzz, Hint O’ Mint, raspberry/ huckleberry white mochas, cookie butter late and more!
